California Creativity Essay Scholarship
The California Creativity Association is a non-profit corporation, working as an Affiliate of Destination Imagination®, Inc., to offer a creative problem solving program within the state. Together the two organizations nurture and celebrate creativity, develop team problem-solving skills, and promote divergent thinking for participants of all ages throughout California. The California Creativity Association encourages people to seek help when acquiring skills and to look within themselves for inspiration. With the skills of creativity, self-respect, cooperation, and understanding of others, participants will use their knowledge to travel uncharted paths to help make the world a better place in which to live.
This scholarship program has been established to assist one (or more) deserving students achieve their educational goals. This year the scholarship will be awarded based on a “Creative Essay” written and submitted by applicants.
Eligibility
- To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must have participated as a team member on a California Creativity Destination Imagination competitive team for at least one Destination Imagination program year.
- Applicants must also be California high school seniors seeking, or California college/university students continuing, a post-secondary education.
- Previous recipients are not eligible.

- California Creativity Scholarship Committee
The Scholarship Committee must receive applications and “Creative Essays” no later than two weeks prior to the California Affiliate Tournament. Please include a photograph of the Nominee that can be used in the Tournament Slide Show. Applications and submissions for the 2022 California Essay Scholarship are due March 27, 2022..
- The Scholarship Committee will review all applications in order to select one or more qualified recipient(s). This Scholarship may not necessarily be awarded every year, at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.
- Recipients will be recognized at the California Affiliate Tournament Closing Ceremony. Recipients that are not present will be notified after the tournament.
