Welcome to California Creativity's Team Manager's Corner. We're here to trade tips, stories, fears, failures and successes about being a DI team manager (TM). Being a TM can be overwhelming and a little isolating. This is the place to cure both these ills so jump on in and participate. Focus on Team Building

OK so you have a team or a prospective team. Good teams produce more creative and technically solid solutions as well as have more fun so start with some team building exercises. Try one or more of these even for a few minutes each meeting. They also can be great ways to reduce tensions if conflict flares up at some point along the journey.

Before you can get anything done, your team has to get to know each other. They are individuals bringing different talents and interests into the mix. They also have to feel like a team, working together to solve a challenge. The best way to accomplish this is to schedule a number of activities that allow them to have fun together.

2010 State Tournament Update

Team Managers should check-in at the Information Tent when they get to the campus. Hand in your Media Releases at the Information Tent. The Information Tent will be located near the clock tower at the center of campus, in the area marked “Merchandise” on the site map.

Closing Ceremonies are scheduled to start at 6:30 pm in the Big Gym. The Big Gym will be opened at 6:00 pm. Parents and supporters should sit in the bleachers. Please leave the lower two rows on the bleachers for teams. Teams should sit on the Gym floor or the lower two rows of bleachers.We hope to finish around 7:30.

Managers of teams invited to advance to Global Finals will meet with Dick Pinney following Closing Ceremonies in the Dance Studio, which is west of the Big Gym, on the south side of the Small Gym.

Lunch will be sold from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm on the south side of Bicentennial Hall. See the menu here for more information.

Just a note, the info states that room 302 is the check in point for the instant challenges but on the map, you have an arrow pointing to room 203 with a note that it is room 302.

Thanks for catching this! The IC check-in room is C-203. There are other rooms numbered 203 on campus, so make sure you're in the "C"onstitution section of the campus for I"C". (This comment refers to the map attached to the following State Finals Site Map story).
