Welcome to California Creativity's Team Manager's Corner. We're here to trade tips, stories, fears, failures and successes about being a DI team manager (TM). Being a TM can be overwhelming and a little isolating. This is the place to cure both these ills so jump on in and participate. Since this is a public web site, comment submissions will be moderated.
OK so you have a team or a prospective team. Good teams produce more creative and technically solid solutions as well as have more fun so start with some team building exercises. Try one or more of these even for a few minutes each meeting. They also can be great ways to reduce tensions if conflict flares up at some point along the journey.
Before you can get anything done, your team has to get to know each other. They are individuals bringing different talents and interests into the mix. They also have to feel like a team, working together to solve a challenge. The best way to accomplish this is to schedule a number of activities that allow them to have fun together.
